X (Twitter) and LinkedIn to Support Passkey

Based on findings in each respective app’s code, X, formally Twitter, and LinkedIn are both working on supporting Passkey, a new passwordless authentication standard developed by the FIDO Alliance and the World Wide Web Consortium.

Passkey uses public-key cryptography to create a secure link between a user's device and a website or app. This means that users no longer need to remember or type in passwords, which can be vulnerable to phishing attacks.
